Healthy Skin

Scarring is a natural process of healing after damage to the skin extends to the reticular dermis. Facial scars are usually caused by pervasive cystic acne, trauma, burns, surgery or disease (chicken pox). There are various types of scars, but those that are distinguished on the face are usually characterized as hypertrophic or atrophic scars. These particular scars leave noticeable marks on the face where fibrous connective tissue has developed. Often mistreated adolescent acne or adult acne are the main causes of facial scarring.

Personalized Diagnosis - VISIA

Dr Margarita Vergolia suggests a comprehensive method to detect skin’s scars and marks using VISIA, the most advanced medical-grade machine for skin analysis. VISIA imaging complexion analysis by Canfield Scientific System works in the simplest, yet most reliable way, providing an in-depth analysis of the skin. The results of the skin analysis are obtained immediately and are stored to build a personal dermatology history file.

Canfield Scientific System Visia imaging system captures multispectral digital photos of the face and provides an in-depth analysis of the skin’s surface and subsurface. It visually displays wrinkles, brown spots, areas of redness, pores, texture, porphyrins and UV exposure. The patient’s skin history is recorded with VISIA, along with valuable information which allows Dr Margarita Vergolia to prepare a personalized treatment plan.

Dr Margarita Vergolia proposes and builds a personalized treatment plan that includes various medical-grade tested treatments used to effectively combat scarring. Using her experience and clinical scientific knowledge of skin and skin problems, she is able to treat ailments from mild to severe. The proposed treatments at MSH Clinic achieve smoothing of the skin’s texture with the ultimate goal of eliminating facial scarring.

Chemical Peel - TCA

At MSH Clinic, we choose the ideal combination of chemical acids to specifically target facial scarring. The TCA (trichloroacetic acid) peel is considered one of the most successful chemical peels to combat acne scars of all types (ice pick, boxcar and rolling). The CROSS technique involves the targeted application of TCA into each individual depression to reconstruct scar tissue and even out the skin. This method enhances ‘neocollagenesis’, the formation of new collagen, and contributes to the gradual regeneration of the skin. The CROSS method is more efficient at treating acne scars than a full face peel because only small amounts of the chemical are applied to targeted areas, reducing the amount of recovery time needed.

Candela PicoWay® is a breakthrough technology machine, approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The latest innovative technology in the field of picosecond laser, PicoWay® releases the shortest laser pulse available measured in picoseconds (trillionths of a second). The energy pulses are used to treat pigmented lesions – acne scars, freckles, discolouration, fine wrinkles – to significantly improve the appearance of the skin. This non-invasive, safe procedure only takes a few sessions to achieve a flawless appearance for all skin types.

Vbeam Perfecta is considered the world's best selling pulsed-dye laser (PDL). The gold standard technology makes Vbeam Perfecta the safest and most effective laser for the treatment of vascular, inflammatory, pigmented, and certain non-pigmented lesions. The quality of the skin is gradually improved with each evolving session as natural production of collagen and elastin is enhanced. The Vbeam laser emits an intense beam of light with energy, designed to specifically target and treat the structures that make red and brown spots to even out your skin tone.

SkinPen is a medical grade skin rejuvenation procedure using a state-of-the-art advanced microneedling device. Collagen induction therapy, as known as microneedling, allows for controlled induction of the skin’s self-repair process by creating thousands of precise micro-injuries in the skin, automatically triggering new collagen synthesis without causing any damage to the layers of the skin. This results in skin remodeling, including the formation of collagen and elastin, the two proteins predominantly responsible for the structure of the skin.

Profhilo is the first BDDE-free stabilized injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) based product for treating skin laxity. Profhilo is a non-invasive anti-aging treatment that offers effective and long-lasting results stimulating collagen and elastin production and increasing the elasticity of your skin. With one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, Profhilo is one of the most effective products out there for remodeling aging and sagging tissue. Simultaneously, dermal fillers are a naturally derived gel-like substance (hyaluronic acid) that are injected into the skin with the purpose of restoring plumpness and volume to the face.

For the proper treatment of the facial scars, we recommend an appropriate skincare routine. The most suitable products are carefully selected by Dr Margarita Vergolia to further improve and maximize results.
